The Grand Junction Lodge was dedicated May 25, 1900, in what is now the heart of Historical
Downtown Grand Junction. The lodge building was designed with a strong renaissance
influence. Through the years, our members have included some
of Grand Junction’s most prominent citizens. Our lodge
has been the setting for many of the valley’s social
affairs. When founded, the total membership was 53. Our current
membership rests at 640 active and life members. 2004 is
the first year that lodge #575 has had two female officers
filling chairs for us.
Our commitment to the community is well documented, with
a long list of community projects over the years. A few major
projects that we have worked with, and continue to work with,
are Mesa State College, Veterans Administration, St. Mary’s
Hospital, Walker Field, and the City Building. We have continued
to support the Veterans Administration Hospital. We have adopted
four patients and are making

weekly visitations to visit them, as well as
weekly bowling and bingo activities. We have, and will continue
to support and sponsor, our Boy Scout Troup, youth activities,
and handicapped bowling.
The current direction that Lodge #575 is taking: We are continuing
to cut our costs where we can, and we have reduced our on
hand inventory. We have and continue to increase our community
involvement and promote more Lodge functions. We continue
to promote our banquette facilities for both day and evening
rentals. This has increased our revenue, so we have more money
to spend on building maintenance and renovation, as well as
other projects beneficial to the whole community.
We are currently being audited by the Colorado Historical
Society to see if we qualify, under the historical preservation
rules, for a grant to renovate this great lodge.
