On behalf of our 54 lodges and 27,258
members of the Colorado Elks Association, I welcome you to our 5-Star
award winning website and I encourage you to browse around and enjoy
the wonderful ways in which Colorado Elks Care and Share. As you do
so, you will quickly discover the uniqueness that is Elkdom in Colorado.
Our Catch-a-Calf and Heifer Wrangle Programs, our
support of the Veterans Winter Sports Clinic, and our programs for
Little Britches Rodeo and the National Western Stock Show are but
a few examples of the ways in which we here in the Rocky Mountain
High supplement the already established programs of the Grand Lodge.
Learning about the many and varied ways in which Colorado Elks strengthen
our communities is but a mouse click away.
Our state major project is Laradon Hall located in Denver. It provides
educational, residential, and vocational services to children, adults,
and senior citizens who have developmental disabilities and other
special needs to help them realize their full potential and facilitate
their full inclusion into the social and economic mainstream of
community life. Laradon Hall, established in 1948, was adopted by
the Colorado Elks Association as its Major Project in 1950.
From its snow capped mountains to its deep canyons and rolling
plains, Colorado is truly “America the Beautiful.” Visit
in any season of the year and you will discover our many attractions
and activities that offer unique opportunities to relax and enjoy
your journey while you experience some of the friendliest lodges
in the country. Be sure to visit the pages that describe our lodges
in picture and word to get a glimpse of the lodges you plan to visit
and a feel for our history in the Order.
My wife Amie and I encourage you to be sure to put the Centennial
State on your itinerary of truly wonderful venues to visit, and
we offer you a warm welcome to Colorado.
Ray Ross, President, Colorado Elks Association
